2025 Macaroni Kid-South Metro Easter Events and Activities Guide

With the excitement of spring,  the kids will be delighted with these upcoming fun Easter Egg Hunts and Events. Some of these events require registration.  The guide has some festive events for your family. Enjoy the Easter fun!

Ongoing Events

25th Annual Farm Babies at the Minnesota Zoo, April 26 through May 18

Spring at the Zoo wouldn’t be complete without Farm Babies, returning April 26 – May 18. For more than 25 years, the Wells Fargo Family Farm has welcomed hundreds of babies, including piglets, goat kids, lambs, calves, chicks, and ducklings. Each year, the beloved tradition gives families the chance to experience the wonder and joy of seeing dozens of these adorable baby animals take their first steps into the world.

πŸ₯šπŸ° Easter Egg Scramble at Lakeville Heritage Center (registration required) register by April 1st, Event on April 5 (two sessions starting at 10am)

Scrambled eggs, pastries, and breakfast treats will be served. Bring your camera—a special bunny has hopped a long way to see you and will be available for photos! We’ll enjoy egg-stra special Easter activities.

🐰🐰 Breakfast with the Bunnies at Schmitz-Maki Arena (registration required), April 5 from 9-10:30am

Enjoy a continental breakfast and family time while visiting with the bunnies. We will also make a craft and learn the bunny hop. This is a great time for spring photos so invite Grandma and Grandpa.

πŸ£πŸ‡ Easter Eggstravaganza at Prince of Peace (Burnsville), April 12 from 10-11:30am

Join us for an egg hunt, crafts and a pancake brunch! Bring your own basket/bag for the egg hunt. Non-food eggs can be requested on the registration form. There is no charge, but we will accept donations for Doulos Discovery School in the Dominican Republic.

🐰 Easter Bunny "Meet and Greet" at the Apple Valley Community Center, April 12 from 9-11am

Meet and get a photo with the Easter Bunny! Play some games and enjoy a snack. Kids will take home a small Easter basket. A parent/guardian must be present during this activity; this is not a drop-off event.

🐰  Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt at Burnsville Center, April 12 from 12-3pm

Visit Burnsville Center for an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt! Participating stores will be giving away eggs filled with gifts and special offers - but you've gotta find them first!  There will also be a Coloring Contest with 3 winners! Check in at Center Court.

πŸ₯š Golden Egg Hunt in various Lakeville Parks (registration required) April 12-19

Find the golden eggs in our parks and complete the challenges. Beginning April 12, 2025 until April 19, 2025, we will be giving out clues to find four golden eggs in our parks. Submit a picture with the egg cutout, or a picture of your family completing register. e challenge, to be entered to win a spring surprise pack! Households may enter up to a maximum of 4 pictures, once per completed challenge. Clues will be sent out via e-mail to those who register.

🐰πŸ₯š The Rosemount Lions Club Spring Egg Hunt at Ames Soccer Complex at Dakota County Technical College, April 12 at 10am

Families with children 10 and under can come for a fun Easter Egg hunt at Ames Soccer Complex. A bunny will be roaming around the entrance area so be sure to bring your camera to take a picture of your child/children standing by him.

πŸ₯šπŸ° Egg Hunt at the Omni Wineroom and Taproom (Rosemount), April 13 from 11am-2pm

Grab the kiddos and join us for an Egg Hunt! πŸ₯š Don't worry adults, there's one for you too! Adults can hunt for eggs of their own with prizes of beer, wine, and food. Stick around for a petting zoo and hair tinsel with our partnering vendors! Time slots by age: πŸ₯š1-4 years old - 11AM 🐰 5-8 years old - 11:45AM πŸ₯ 9-12 years old - 12:30PM Each child can collect up to 10 eggs, so be sure to arrive early—eggs disappear fast! 🐣

πŸ”¦πŸ₯š Black Light Flashlight Egg Hunt at the Johnny Cake Activity Center (Apple Valley) registration required, April 15 from 7-8:30pm

Black Light Flashlight Egg Hunt

Join us for an outdoor egg hunt and win prizes if you find the lucky eggs! Black light flashlights provided. Bring an Easter basket to put your eggs in and a regular flashlight. 

In case of inclement weather, the make-up date is Thursday, April 17.

πŸ•πŸ€Έ Parent's Night Out and Pizza Party at IGM Gymnastics (Burnsville) Friday, April 18 from 530-8:30 (registration required)

Would you like a parent's night out? IGM has you covered and a pizza party dinner for the kids too. They have a great night planned so they won't even miss you. From an Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza, to games, open gym time with a bounce house and a fun craft too.

Call the gym at 952-898-3889 to register!  But, don't wait!  SPACE IS VERY LIMITED AND WILL FILL FAST!  Don't let your little ones miss out on this eggstravaganza!

πŸ₯šπŸ° My House Got Egged by the Easter Bunny for Apple Valley Residents (registration required), April 18; Friday, April 18; 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. or 1–3:30p.m.

Celebrate Easter by letting us “egg” your house!

Register for a time when no one will be home (or you can keep your kids away from windows) and we will scatter a combination of 15 candy- and toy-filled eggs onto your lawn. We’ll also leave an age-appropriate gift and a chocolate bunny on your doorstep.
